Who are you?
My name is Jonathan Moore. I am a Southern California native and a graduate of USC. In addition to being a full-time wedding photographer, I am also an aspiring CrossFitter, a diehard Trojan, a world traveler, a strong believer in marriage equality, a decent mountain biker, a better hiker and an even better yogi!
What’s your method?
I try to get along with everyone I meet. I know that may seem a bit simplistic, but honestly, being a kind and polite human being works really well! In the end, friends trust friends, and my previous subjects have put 110% of their trust in me, for which I am eternally grateful. That said, my approach is entirely documentary. I try to maintain a stealth like presence while shooting. I capture moments that are often missed by the bride or groom. I only intervene when it’s appropriate. Stylistically, I am a purist in every sense of the word. I try to keep everything, for the most part, just as we see it. Absolutely none of the images on this site are contrived or fabricated. Other than very basic posing adjustments for light and composition, I will never direct you to specifically to “look” or “appear” certain way. That said, yes I am happy to make group shots, but since no one (including me), really likes doing those, I pre-scout a location and try to get through them as quickly and efficiently as possible.
What’s your ideal subject?
Well, first and foremost you someone who knows that life is short, so you want to make every moment count. You have a sense of adventure and a need to experience new things. You enjoy being outdoors. You take that expression “you only live once” to the next level. You’re spontaneous. However you define good photography, you value the effort that goes into it. Most importantly, you are madly in love with your partner and you are willing to show that in front a stranger (me) and my camera. If you’re any of these things, we will work well together and the stranger part won’t last long at all…
I look forward to speaking with you!
